Joseph Wohlferd

Joseph Daniel Wohlferd, 59, passed away at his home on Friday, February 12, 2010. Joe was born October 11, 1950 in Americus, Georgia. He married Eunice Faye Robinson on November 2, 1968 in Cleburne. Joe was a member of New Life Church of Christ. He worked as a Journeyman Electrician, retiring 9 years ago. Joe was a past member of Knights of Pythias and Falcon Car Club. "JoJo" as his grandchildren called him, was a collector and an avid Elvis fan. Joe enjoyed fishing and later in life had a passion for cooking, gardening and classic car shows. He was known for his giving spirit and outgoing nature. It has been said that once you met him, you didn't forget him. Joe was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend that will be missed greatly by all those that knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Frank and Billie Don McCreary Wohlferd and twin brothers, Richard and Robert Abbott.
Service: 3:00 P.M. Wednesday, February 17, 2010 at Crosier Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Visitation: 6-8:00 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials: In luei of flowers, donations may be made to Meals on Wheels or Cleburne Christian Lodge.
Survivors: Wife of 41 years, Eunice Wohlferd; children and their spouses, Brett and Jennifer Wohlferd and Shelley and Jason Morse; grandchildren, Peyton Wohlferd, Grayson and Rhett Morse; sisters, Jean Ann Burridge and her husband, Rick, Martha Lynn Baxter; numerous nieces and nephews; biological mother, Gwen Christian; and a host of other relatives and friends.
