Joy Opal Hudson

Joy Opal English Hudson of Cleburne, Texas passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday, April 28, 2017. She had been a resident of Cleburne since 1969.
She was born May 3, 1932 to Ellis Miller and Joy Lawhorn English in Logan, Texas.
Joy Hudson worked for Texell Industries for 25 years until retirement. Joy devoted her life to her grandchildren and great grandchildren loved them with every ounce of her being. Joy also enjoyed reading and spending time outside gardening, tending to her flowers and pecan tree. She was also an avid walker and never missed a day. Joy had many friends who she talked to every day. Joy was of Christian faith and attended church in Cleburne.
She leaves behind her daughter, Sylvia Kerlin (Kevin) of Cary, IL, grandchildren, Brittany Joy Peebles (Gary), K.J. Sanchez, Wesley Gentry (Talia), Thomas Kerlin, Kelly Kerlin and Jack Kerlin and great grandchildren Mason Peebles, Adalyn Peebles, Hayden Gentry and Kole Gentry. In addition, she leaves behind brothers, Kenneth English (Alice), Emanuel Leon English (Jeanette), Leo English (Betty), Frank English (Ludene), brother-in-law Roy Powell and her nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Ellis and Joy English, infant son Kenny Joe, daughter Frankie Jo Sanchez and son-in-law Luciano Sanchez, her sister Lurlene Powell and brothers James English, Ellis M. English, Jr., Robert English and Alex English.
Friends may join Joy’s family on Thursday, May 4, 2017 from 6PM – 8PM at Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Funeral Home, 512 N. Ridgeway Drive, Cleburne, Texas. Graveside services will be held on Friday, May 5, 2017 at 11AM at Green Acres Memorial Park, 3201 N. Main Street, Cleburne. Honorary pallbearers are Mason Peebles, Hayden Gentry, Kole Gentry, Roman Jones and Ryan Lyles.
