Memorial service for Joyce E. Cook, 89, of Cleburne will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2012 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel.
Mrs. Cook passed away Friday, Sept. 21, 2012 in Cleburne. She was born April 2, 1923 in Flint, MI to John and Edith A. Foster Jewell. She married Raymond L. Cook in 1945 in Los Angeles County, Calif. Mrs. Cook was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed watching golf and football games and working crossword puzzles. She was honest, outspoken and strong-willed, having been raised during the great depression and WWII era. Her sharp wit and loving nature will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her sons, Raymond L. Cook and John Cook and wife, Betty; 10 grandchildren, Tim Cook, Matt Cook and wife, Christy, Jonathan Cook, Amy Oliver and husband, Wes, Don Russell and wife, Amy, Robert Russell and wife, Patty, Rene' Myers and husband, Doug, Diana Hayton and husband, Edward, Kari Holtzgang and husband, Brian, and Melissa Ibison; 21 great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; three nieces, and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Raymond L. Cook, Sr.; great grandchild, Chelsea Hayton; two sisters and one brother, Roy Jewell, June Richards and Hazel Warren.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Mission Hospice and Heritage Trails Nursing Home for their wonderful care and support.
