Service for Joyce D. Lunsford, 83, of Grandview will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, January 5, 2022, in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Burial will follow in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 P.M., Tuesday, January 4, 2022, at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Brandon Van Zandt, Sean Van Zandt, Cody Hambright, Daniel Hambright, Bobby Collins, Robert Pribble, and Billy Lopstitch.
Joyce passed away Saturday, January 1, 2022, in Grandview. She was born September 7, 1938, in Rapid City, South Dakota to Floyd and Emma Nelsina Therisa Johanson Dawkins. She married John William Lunsford on December 16, 1958, in Fort Worth. She was a member of the Church of Christ in the Parker Community. Joyce loved to care for children and was a very giving person, always putting others before herself. She was not only kind-hearted but also strong willed. Joyce took great pride in family gatherings, especially New Year’s Day family reunion. She was known for writing letters and cards. Joyce will be missed greatly.
Joyce is survived by her children and their spouses, Joyce Van Zandt and Darryl, Teresa Findley and Jr., John W. Lunsford Jr., and Trena; grandchildren and their spouses, Brandon Van Zandt and Courtney, Sean Van Zandt and Leanne, Cody Hambright, Daniel Hambright, Logan Lunsford and Jennifer Fowler and Trevor; 13 great-grandchildren; sister, Theresa Ashcraft; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, John W. Lunsford, Sr.; son-in-law, Robert Hambright; siblings, Bob T. Dawkins, Violet Gross, Margaret Voshel, Chuck Dawkins, Carol Pribble, and Jeannie Collins.
