Graveside service for Judith “Judy” Winchester, 75, of Whitney will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2017 in the Poe Prairie Cemetery in Parker County. Chaplain Shane Alexander will officiate. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 P.M., Tuesday, at Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Funeral Home.
Judith “Judy” Winchester passed away Friday, Jan. 27, 2017 in Whitney. She was born Dec. 1, 1941 in Okla. to Willie Eddie and Odell “Dodie” Thomas Pierce. She married Horace Dean Winchester on Feb. 24, 1967 and he preceded her in death on Aug. 12, 2002.
Mrs. Winchester worked as a legal secretary until retiring; then followed her passion & love for antiques. She enjoyed being at the beach, playing scrabble, and reading. She loved her family dearly.
Survivors include her children, Lisa Baker of Texas and Lana Mathers and husband Rodney of Maypearl; mother, Odell “Dodie” Pierce; fiancé, Michael Nuese; step children, Tami Myers, Jeff Winchester and Traci Bartel and husband Dale, all of TX; grandchildren, Lorna Gearhart and husband Rick, Amanda Williams and husband Colby, Elizabeth Tawater and husband Dakota, Chelsea Mathers, Brittany Duckworth, Chad Bartel, Brooke Neff, Callie Myers and Cody Myers; 12 great grandchildren; brother, Roger Pierce and wife Lou Ann of Pittsburg; niece Rhonda Pierce; nephew, Roger Pierce; and a host of other relatives and friends who will miss her greatly.
Judy leaves these parting thoughts: “Let the good memories take over any sadness as time passes and know I had my life and did my best living it. I’ll never really be gone as long as you have me in your heart and think of me.”
