Julia was born June 16, 1959 in Cleburne to Robert E. (Bob) and Mary Prater. She met the love of her life, Keith Prescher and they were married July 2, 1976. Julia loved life, loved her family and loved being a caregiver to others. She loved country living and long road trips where she enjoyed visiting all the painted churches throughout the State of Texas. Cooking, camping, gardening and bird watching were among her favorite hobbies. Her most favorite thing in life was to be everyone’s “JuJu” a name given to her by her nephew, Adam Mann.

Julia loved taking part in community service projects. She participated in the Special Olympics for many years with her son Jayson. She was a member of Alpha Omicron Theta Sorority Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi where she chaired many committees. Her favorite was the Service Committee. One of the service projects was participating in the Whistle Stop Christmas Parade and Food Booths at Hulen Park where she created her famous cake pops and pretzels to raise money for area food banks.
