Karan A. Tidwell went to be with the Lord February 19, 2021. She was 69 years old. She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Alice, her brothers Johnnie and Donnie, and sister Amy.
She is survived by her husband, Michael Tidwell. Her kids, Daniel Teel, Samuel Teel, Jeannie Childers, Tara Tidwell, and Charley Tidwell. Her Grandchildren, Hunter, Tristan, Kourtney, Dylan, Lance, Chance, and Zane.
She was born January 29, 1952 to Charles and Alice Joy Dawson. She grew up in Texarkana, TX.
Karan earned a Bachelors of Science and Masters in Education. “Mrs Tidwell” was a teacher and principal for a combined 30 years.
Karan met and married Michael Tidwell in 1986. They were each other’s “home” and soul mate from then on. He admired her big brown eyes, beautiful smile, and most of all, her great personality that always shined through.
They raised five kids between the two of them. But, while a teacher and principal, she helped countless others.
After Karan retired from education, she embarked on many adventures with her husband, her friends, her kids, and grandkids. She was always working on a project, with at least 10 more in mind. She enjoyed traveling, and going new places, especially trying new places to eat out. Her favorites being Hawaii and Papasitos.
She had three dogs that she loved fiercely, Tinky, Jake, and most recently, Tucker.
Michael, an ex machinist at Santa Fe Railroad and custom home builder with his craftsmanship skills; Karan, an educator, with sophisticated style and design - Together they built four homes, with as many shops, which is a testament to their marriage and quite the accomplishment. Their last home being in Grandview. They attended church at First Baptist Church in Rio Vista, TX.
Goodbyes are not forever; it simply means, I’ll miss you until I see you again.
Visitation: Thursday February 25, 2021 6-8pm. There will be a private service for immediate family and close friends.
