Service for Karen Alene Vandervoort Monk, 51, of Cleburne will be conducted at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, Feb. 18, 2012 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. The Reverend Bill Hardin will officiate. Burial will be in Greenacres Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6-8 P.M., Friday, at the funeral home.
Karen Alene Vandervoort Monk passed away Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2012 in Cleburne. She was born on Feb. 23, 1960 in Whitney, the third daughter of Allen and Corene Vandervoort. She along with her parents, five sisters and one brother grew up on the Rex Bullard Dairy in Blum. She and her family attended Woodrow Baptist Church where she was saved at the age of 12. Karen was a quiet and sweet person who loved her God and family very dearly.
Survivors include her sons, Bryan Monk, Christopher Monk and wife Donna and Jeffrey Monk, all of Cleburne; parents, Allen and Corene Vandervoort of Cleburne; sisters, Donna Rogers, Linda Vandervoort, Laurie Jaeger, Angela Beck and Brenda Talley; brother, Jerry Vandervoort; granddaughters, Kaelin and Kayla Monk; step grandson, Nathan Skiles and numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
