Ken Elder

Services for Ken Elder, 82, of Whitney, will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Monday, November 3, 2008, in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. The Rev. Charles Payne will officiate. Interment will be in the DFW National Cemetery.
Ken Elder passed away Thursday, October 30, 2008 in Whitney. He was born March 31, 1926 in Wisconsin to Ted and Maude Shultz Elder. He married Lula Elizabeth Powery on March 29, 1990 in Honduras.
Mr. Elder served 20 years in the US Coast Guard, Army and Air Force. He formerly worked for Tandy Leather Company and owned Leather Art of Texas for many years. He was of the Baptist faith.
Ken Elder is survived by his wife, Lula Elder of Whitney; sons, Ted Elder and wife, Donna, Tim Elder, Wesley Elder, Jerry Elder and wife, Dianne; daughter, Lita Garvin and husband, Chris; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his twin brother, Les Elder.
