Service for Kenneth Ray Gossett, 80, of Cleburne, will be conducted at 1:00 P.M., Friday, March 8, 2024, in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel with Mr. Eddie Parrish officiating. Burial will follow in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8:00 P.M., Thursday, March 7, 2024 at the funeral home.
Ken passed away Monday, March 4, 2024 in Fort Worth. He was born May 12, 1943 in Cleburne to Howard Dillard and Lois Elizabeth (West) Gossett. He was a carpenter, craftsman, and served his country in the Texas Army National Guard. Ken was a lifelong Cleburne resident and a true Yellowjacket. He collected and restored Santa Fe and Railroad Memorabilia. Ken enjoyed the Cleburne Railroaders, Texas Rangers and Dallas Cowboys games. He loved his granddaughters and was always reaching out. Ken was an extremely proud “Grampy” of everything they did. In addition, he really loved his grand pets. Ken was a great storyteller and had a story about everything. Ken really enjoyed cooking and was a member of the Chisholm Trail Chaparrals, a Dutch oven cooking club. He was a longtime member of the Cleburne Chapter at Elks Lodge #811. He really liked meeting with his brothers and friends on Friday mornings at the West End Grill for breakfast. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him.
Survivors include his sons, Layne Gossett and wife Cindy, and Kelly Gossett; grandchildren, Rebekah Preskenis and husband Dylan, and Emily Gossett; brothers, Bill Bridges, Ronnie Gossett and wife Janice, Lonnie Gossett and wife Jessica; sister, Betty Davis; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Howard Lane Gossett and Larry Dan Gossett.
