Service for Kenneth Lynn Ownbey, 76, of Cleburne will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Friday, October 30, 2020, in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Pastor Kody Hughes. Burial will follow in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8:00 P.M., Thursday, October 29, 2020 at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Ricky Bingham, Steven Cooper, Damon Emery, Charlie Hall, Terry Ownbey and Greg Webb. Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Dean, Tom Hatch, Danny Nichols, Jimmy Stanley and Rocky Whitehead.
Kenneth married Joan Natalie Wellman on August 30, 1968 in Cleburne. Mr. Ownbey worked for Johnson County Electric Company AKA United Coop for 28 years. Retiring in 1998. He was an active member of The Heights Church. He enjoyed camping, traveling. golfing, fishing and spending time with his family and granddaughters. He enjoyed working in the yard and helping others with handyman repairs and projects. He will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.
Kenneth is survived by his daughter, Karen Michelle Grigsby and husband Monty Aaron; son, Jeffrey Lynn Ownbey and wife Paula Gay; granddaughters, Natalie Michelle Grigsby, Shelbie Lynn Grigsby, Kenna Marie Ownbey, Rebbecca Leigh Ownbey; brother, Truitt LaWayne Ownbey and wife Pat; sister, Judy Elaine Johnson and husband Gary; wife, Gayle White and a host of other relatives and friends.
Kenneth is preceded in death by his wife Joan, his parents and sisters, Barbara Gayle McCowen and Janice Winelle Bingham.
