Services for Kenneth Denzel Skinner, 85, of Cleburne, will be conducted at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, September 15, 2010 in the First United Methodist Church, Cleburne. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6:00-8:00 P.M.
Mr. Skinner departed this life on Friday, September 10, 2010 in Fort Worth. He was born on July 4, 1925 in Breckenridge to the late, Clarence and Erah Roberts Skinner. Kenneth was very proud of his July 4th birthday and was a patriotic man, flying the flag on all occasions. He graduated from Breckenridge High School and worked for many years at Industrial Electronics and other electronics firms as salesman and purchasing agent. Most of his adult life was spent in Fort Worth, but had lived in Cleburne near four years. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Cleburne, where he was active in the Mens' Group and Senior Adults' Group. He was also a member of the Carnegie Players Guild. He loved fishing, hunting, boating and swimming. Kenneth was preceded in death by Gabrielle Fleming Skinner, his wife of 54 years.
Survivors include his wife, Sylvia Skinner; son, Patrick Skinner and his wife, Sandy; granddaughters, Monica Skinner and Theresa Slagle and her husband, Robert; great grandsons, Jeremy Daniel, Christopher Daniel and his wife, Melinda; great great granddaughter, Daisy Rae Daniel; step children, Paul Smitherman and his wife, Connie, Nancy Wilson and her husband, Gary, Susan Jackson and her husband, Danny, Joani Smitherman, Carole Roberts and husband, Jerry and Janie Holcomb and husband, Roger; 17 step grandchildren; and 24 step great grandchildren.
