A going home celebration for Lamar Kyzar, 72, of Cleburne will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, Sept. 3, 2016 at Nolan River Rd. Baptist Church. Brother Adam Mathews will officiate, assisted by the Reverend Larry York. Burial will be in Bogue Chitto Cemetery in Bogue Chitto, MS. at a later date. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 P.M., Friday, at the funeral home.
Lamar passed away Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2016 in Dallas. He was born Oct. 1, 1943 in Bogue Chitto, MS. to Albert and Jessie Dunn Kyzar. He married Betty Warren on March 24, 1968 in Brookhaven, MS.
Lamar, a longtime resident of Cleburne, was a doting husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many. He worked in the garment industry for 52 years, with the last 30 years at Walls Industries, serving as Technical Design Manager. He was a member of Nolan River Rd. Baptist Church.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 48 years, Betty Kyzar of Cleburne; sons, Derek Kyzar and wife Michelle of Sherman and Chad Kyzar and wife Kathleen of Ft. Worth; sister, Peggy Holmes of Bogue Chitto, MS.; sister-in-law, Shirley Newman of Wesson, MS. and Faye Smith of Grenada, MS.; four grandchildren, Claire, Braden, Ryland, and Andrew; the Van Zandt family, Kelly, Randy, Randall, Rhett; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Marvin Kyzar.
