Larry passed away Friday, February 10, 2023 in Nemo. He was born August 16, 1952, in Cleburne to Billy Frank and Jane (Vickers) Barker. Larry married Shirley Diane Perez on November 5, 2011, in Cleburne. He was a member of Field Street Baptist Church. Larry was the owner/operator of Main Place Dry Cleaners with locations in Cleburne, Rio Vista, and Godley from 1978-2009. Larry had friends of all walks of life and many throughout his whole life. He never met a stranger. Larry never let any obstacle he faced keep him from doing anything he wanted to do. Larry was bigger than life. He was giving of this time, resources, talents, and love. He never had a bad thing to say about anyone. The family farm was extremely important to him and shared its history with loved ones. He was a talented musician, avid historian, and baseball player. His love of life, family and community will continue to leave a mark on those that knew him. Larry will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Barker; sister, Cindy Mash, numerous nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, and son, Christian Shane Barker.
The family would like to give thanks to the ICU nurses at Texas Health Cleburne; and Dr. John Daramola for the love and care given to Larry and the family. A special thanks to Dr. Andrew Anyadiegwa who started out as Larry’s doctor and became a very close friend that made Larry always feel safe.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to your favorite animal shelter or rescue in Larry’s honor.
