Larry Huckabee

Services for Larry Dale Huckabee, 79, of Arlington, will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., on Friday, May 13, 2022, in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Burial to follow in Greenacres Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 12:00 – 1:30 p.m., on Friday May 13, immediately prior to the Service.
Larry passed away on Saturday, May 7, 2022, at Medical City in Arlington. He was born on June 9, 1942, in Wellington, TX, to Cecil and Ozella Huckabee. On July 6, 1962, he married the love of his life, Jerry Lynn West. They spent their first 12 years of marriage in Godley on the Foster farm. In 1972, they moved to Crowley and became members of the First Baptist Church, where Larry served as a Deacon, and they made lifelong friends. Larry worked for Southwestern Bell/AT&T for 32 long years, retiring in 2002, where he and Jerry moved to Granbury to live by the lake. Larry was a substitute teacher in Granbury and loved to help with the FFA program. Jerry passed away on June 19, 2008.

On June 25, 2009, he married his companion, Wanda Janell Holloway. They spent 12 years together, and he lovingly nursed her during her last few years. Wanda passed away on December 8, 2021.

Larry spent a lifetime giving to others, to the point of doing without for himself. He loved wood crafting, building cabinets, and other handyman chores. He was always staying busy, helping his friends and neighbors.

Larry is survived by his daughter, Kim Burns and husband Ronnie of Burleson, Kristi Huckabee of Midland, and his son, Kevin Huckabee and wife Karla, of Groveland, FL. Grandchildren are: Denise Schaule and husband, Will, of Burleson, Robert Hooper and wife, Angelica, of Midland, Staci Hokett of Austin, Kaci Hokett of Midland, Amber Huckabee of Fort Worth, Kyler Huckabee of Burleson, and Kelsey Huckabee of Groveland, FL. Great-grandchildren are: Jordan, Ryan, Trey, Jasmine, Isaac, Vinnie, Adriel, Melodee, Zoei, AnnaBelle, Kavon and Kahlil. He is also survived by many close friends, cousins and extended family.
