Larry Wines

A memorial service for Larry Leon Wines, Sr., will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, December 9, 2023, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 4401 NE Loop 820, North Richland Hills, Texas with Bishop Reeves officiating.

Larry passed away Wednesday, November 29, 2023 in North Richland Hills. He was born November 22, 1941 in Mattoon, Illinois to Leslie Homer and Letha Irene (Stull) Wines. Larry married Deborah “Debby” Kay Gilmore on May 18, 1985 in Aledo, Texas. He was a truck driver for most of his life, but the last seven years he drove a bus for Cleburne ISD. Larry had a strong faith and was devoted to spreading his faith to others. He believed in forgiving and being respectful in all occasions. Larry was a family man that kept everyone close throughout his life. He was a jokester and larger than life and always willing to help others. Larry was an avid sports fan, especially baseball, football and golf. He was a 3rd Degree Master Mason with the Panther City Lodge in Fort Worth.

He is survived by his wife, Deborah “Debby” Wines; children, Lisa Phillips, Larry Leon Wines, Jr., Amy Johnson and her husband, James, Russell Wines, and Leslie Wines and his wife, Amy; 12 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; brother, Raymond E. Wines, Sr., and his wife, Rosemary; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Blair Leon James Brock; and daughter-in-law, Rebyka Wright Wines.
