LaRue Smith

LaRue Smith passed away Saturday, Jan. 13, 2018 in Keller. She was born Jan. 17, 1927 in Wise County to Joe and Evvie Wallace Steph. She married William Henry (Bill) Smith on April 17, 1948 in Ft. Worth.
Although first a loving wife and mother, she worked for years at the First State Bank of Rio Vista, Rangeaire/Texas Lime and retired as a switchboard operator from Johnson County Memorial Hospital. She loved spending time with her family and friends and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Rio Vista.

Service for LaRue will be conducted at 10:30 A.M., Friday, Jan. 19, 2018 in the First Baptist Church of Rio Vista. Dr. Paul Pinyan will officiate. Visitation will be from 9:30-10:30 A.M., Friday, prior to the service.

Survivors include her sons, Gary Michael Smith and wife Sharon of Arlington and Stephen Patrick Smith and wife Kathy of Haslet; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and beloved husband, Bill in 1989.

LaRue shared a wink and knowing smile with Mike, Pat and those she loved, even as she forgot most of her past. She loved others as Jesus loved her. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, North Texas Chapter, 2630 W. Freeway, Suite 100, Ft. Worth, TX 76102
