Graveside service for Lavada Rea Rogers, 97, of Fort Worth will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Monday, March 10, 2014 in Greenacres Memorial Park. The Reverend Charles E. Payne will officiate. Visitation will be from 4-6:00 P.M., Sunday, at the funeral home.
Mrs. Rogers passed away Friday, March 7, 2014 in Fort Worth. She was born November 20, 1916 in Tolar to Cyrus David and Dovie Irene (Mama Rene) Pendegrass Casey. She married James Polk (Shady) Rogers on September 22, 1934 in Cleburne.
Mrs. Rogers was a homemaker and a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She loved to cook and made the best coconut cream pies in Texas. She will be greatly missed.
Survivors include her sons, James Don Rogers and wife Candy of Granbury and Gary David Rogers of Fort Worth; granddaughters, Kelly Glasco and Wren Davis, of Fort Worth; grandson, James Chance Rogers of Keller; seven great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; sisters, Faye Miller and Dorothy Thetford. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James Polk (Shady) Rogers; great granddaughter, Autymn Smith; sister, Bobbie Barnes and brother, David Casey.
