LaVera Vowell

Service for LaVera Vowell, 80, of Covington will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, April 17, 2014 in Bethel Temple Assembly of God. Pastor Mike Mizell and Pastor Larry Vowell will officiate. Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Scott Wyse, Mike Wyse, Seth Wyse, Bradley Johnson, Chris Holiday, James Mullins, Jeff Mullins and Bobby Martin. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 P.M., Wednesday, at the funeral home.

Mrs. Vowell passed away Monday, April 14, 2014 in Ft. Worth. She was born August 18, 1933 in Ft. Worth to Charles Lee and Mary Teresa Couch Mullins. She married Glenn Edward Vowell on March 1, 1951 in Ft. Worth and he preceded her in death on September 29, 2011.

Mrs. Vowell was a homemaker. She enjoyed singing and studied opera. She also enjoyed square dancing for more than 45 years. She was a member of Bethel Temple Assembly of God and her strong faith and love for the Lord was evident in every aspect of her life.

Survivors include her children, Jerry Vowell and wife Marla, Teresa Rhoten and husband Joe, and Leisa Jenkins; grandchildren, Michael Rhoten, Freedom Jay and husband Jeff, and Matthew Jenkins; great grandchildren, JaNice, Kaylee, JoeDee, Levi , Easton, and Kaleb; sister, Patricia Wyse; sister-in-law, Joyce Mullins; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends, including the entire Rhoten family and her lifelong best friend, Nell Honeycutt. She was also preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Carl Mullins.
