Laverne Applegate

Services for Laverne Applegate, 83, of Bedford, formerly of Cleburne, will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Friday, September 12, 2008 at the Westhill Church of Christ 1100 Westhill, Cleburne. Mr. Roger Stewart and Mr. Kenneth Clapp will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery.

Laverne Applegate passed away Wednesday, September 10, 2008. She was born November 29, 1924 in Blanton, TX to Jodie and Clara Ripley Anderson. She married Joe Applegate on January 25, 1941 in Peoria, TX. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Mrs. Applegate was a dietitian for Cleburne ISD for 12 years and Johnson County Memorial Hospital for 12 years. She also worked for Sears Catalog Store in Cleburne for 12 years. She attended Texas Women's University for three years. She was a member of Westhill Church of Christ.

Laverne Applegate is survived by her sons, Billy Don Applegate and wife, Peggy of Balch Springs and Curtiss Ray Applegate and wife, Kathy of Ft. Worth; 7 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Dennis Anderson and wife, Totsie of Cleburne and Jimmy Anderson and wife, Bunny of Gainsville and daughter-in-law, Paula Applegate of Cleburne. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Applegate; son, Steve Applegate; grandson, Mark Wade Applegate; sister, Helen Anderson and brothers, Darwin Anderson and Bobby Anderson.
