Graveside services for Leatha Mae Puckett, 87, of Cleburne, formerly of Grandfalls and Monahans,will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 16, 2010 in the Monahans Memorial Cemetery, Monahans, Texas. The Reverend Charles E. Payne and Reverend Gordon Cox will officiate. Visitation will be Friday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Leatha Mae Puckett passed away Thursday, August 12, 2010 in Cleburne. She was born December 1, 1922 in Fort Scott, Kansas to Ralph Dixon and Jessie Maude Johnston Garrison. She married John Allen "Pinky" Puckett, Sr. on June 19, 1955 in Fort Scott, Kansas.
Mrs. Puckett attended nursing school at St. Edward's Mercy Hospital in Fort Smith, Arkansas. She retired as a nurse of 45 years with 25 years of service in the Ward Memorial Hospital in Monahans. She was a longtime resident of Grandfalls and Monahans. She was a former member of Bethel Baptist Church in Monahans and a currently a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Cleburne.
Leatha Mae Puckett is survived by her son, Johnny Puckett and wife, Debra of Monahans; two daughters, Judy LaCroix and husband, Kenny of Covington and Carol Wray and husband, Jimmy of Cleburne; five grandchildren, Megan Chudej of Covington, Anita Kelso of Monahans, Michael Merrit of Ft. Worth, Matthew Puckett of Monahans and Sarah Puckett of Monahans; two great-grandchildren, Jacob Chudej and Lindsey Kelso. She was preceded in death by her husband, John A. "Pinky" Puckett in 1986.
