Lelis Utz

Prayer services for Lelis G. Utz, 84, will be held at 4:00 pm with visitation to follow on Saturday, December 19, 2009 at the funeral home. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm, Sunday, December 20, 2009 at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, 601 South Burleson Blvd., Burleson, Texas 76028. in Burleson.


Mrs. Utz passed away at her home in Burleson on Wednesday, December 16, 2009. She was born to the late, Diogenes Reta and Veronica Nievas on December 22, 1924 in Mendosa, Argentina. Lelis married Arturo Utz on March 28, 1951 in Argentina. She was a nurse in Argentina until retiring in 1970. Upon moving to the states, she resumed her caretaking roles here, seeing to the elderly for seven years and then a daycare center in her home for over 18 years. Lelis was a dedicated and active member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. Nonina, as her grandchildren called her, enjoyed taking care of her flowers and canaries. Lelis' loving spirit and giving nature will be greatly missed by all those that knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.



Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Arturo Utz; children, Graciela Japas, Carlos Utz, Daniel A. Utz, and Gustavo Utz; 13 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; brothers, Carlos Reta and Luis Reta; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
