Services for Leno Ellington, 93, of Arlington, will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 6, 2008 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Dr. Robert Graham and Rev. John Glover will officiate. Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ben Hall, Bill Jones, Richard Ellington, Charles Yarbrough, Jesse Lockhart and Charlie Auschwitz.Visitation will be prior to service.
Leno Ellington passed away Monday, December 1, 2008 in Arlington. She was born March 21, 1915 in Eastland County, TX to Jesse and Lela Walton Lockhart. She married W.A. Ellington on April 7, 1935 in Sweetwater.
Mrs. Ellington was an administrative assistant for Cleburne Eye Clinic for over 30 years. She was a long time member of Field St. Baptist Church and a member of the Priscilla Sunday School class.
Leno Ellington is survived by her two daughters, Mae Dean Smith and husband, Wendell of Foley, AL and Ella Jane Hatfield and husband, Jerry of Arlington; four grandchildren, Angela Smith of Philadelphia, PA, Carla Thomas of Olive Branch, MS, Scott Hatfield of Fresno, CA and Charles Hatfield, of Valencia, CA; six great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter and one sister, Levearl Arthur of San Angelo. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Ellington;one sister and one brother.
