Leon Jones

Leon Jones, 81, of Cleburne, passed away Thursday, April 30, 2020 in Cleburne. He was born November 15, 1938 in Karnes County, Texas to Francis Ervin and Ida (Retzloff) Jones. Leon married Pat Ford on March 31, 1962 in Cleburne. Before retiring Leon worked in the health food distribution industry as a maintenance supervisor as well as many years at Cleburne Electric and was member of Calvary Baptist Church. Open visitation will be 10:00A.M. - 12:00 P.M., Saturday, May 2, 2020, at the funeral home. A private family graveside will be held.

Leon (Papa) enjoyed spending time with his family & friends. He especially loved his time with grandkids and great-grandkids. He proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1958-1961. Leon dabbled in everything from rebuilding Cushman scooters to tractors and of course his 56 Chevy. Leon never met a stranger and enjoyed sharing his stories with everyone. He loved his Calvary Baptist Church family and spending time with them. Most of all having his personal relationship with Jesus which fulfilled his Eternity.

Leon is survived by his wife, Pat Jones of Cleburne; son, Jerry and wife Tracey Jones of Cleburne; daughter, Jennifer and husband Mitch Myers of Fort Worth and their son, J.D. Myers; son, Jody Jones and wife Monica of Malakoff and their children, Jared Jones and wife Stacey, Taylor Jones and wife Lindsie, Alexis Painter and husband Avery; great-grandchildren, Addie Mae Jones, Piper Scout Jones, Jameson Pineda Jones and Lawson Thomas Jones and sisters, Shirley Guinn of Kopperl and Carol Reynolds of Oklahoma.

Leon is preceded in death by his father, Francis Jones and mother, Ida Jones.
