Leona Beatrice (Lairson) Heald

Services for Leona Beatrice (Lairson) Heald, age 65, of Joshua, will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, October 12, 2024, in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel with Pastor Weldon Coble officiating. Burial will follow in Covington Cemetery. There will be a time of visitation from 6-8:00 P.M., Friday, October 11, 2024, at the funeral home.

Leona Heald, affectionately known as "Nana," passed away on September 28, 2024, in Joshua. Born on February 26, 1959, in Temple, Texas, she brought joy and love to all who knew her.

Leona Lairson married Russell Heald, with whom she built a beautiful family. As a dedicated homemaker, she excelled in the kitchen, becoming known for her cooking and gardening skills. Leona had a creative spirit, enjoying hobbies such as crocheting and crafting, which she shared with those close to her. A true family-oriented individual, she held a deep love for her relatives and friends, demonstrating her affection through caring words and gestures. Her love for literature was highlighted by her enjoyment of Stephen King's novels, and she found entertainment in television shows like "The Walking Dead," "Gunsmoke," and "Bonanza." A wise life lesson she cherished was to "enjoy each other and take care of each other." Her infectious happiness created treasured memories that will resonate with her loved ones. Leona Heald leaves behind her husband, Russell Heald; daughters, Ruschelle Hess and Stephanie Heald; son, Russell Heald, II; grandson, Zeke Heald; granddaughters, Skylar Wilson, Nova Hess, and Dezerea Hess; mother, Willie Beatrice Lairson; brothers, Edward Lairson, Clinton Lairson, Melvin Lairson, and Gary Lairson; as well as numerous cousins, family, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Patricia Lairson; her grandmother, Geraldine "Granny" Hoisington Hurt; her grandfather, Milford Lionel Hurt; and her cousin, Milford Lionel Hurt, Jr.
