Leroy Bowles

Service for Leroy Bowles, 89, of Cleburne will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, March 29, 2022 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Burial will follow in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8:00 P.M., Monday, March 28, 2022 at the funeral home.

Leroy passed away March 25, 2022 in Grandview. He was born March 18, 1933 in Grandview to Charles Augustus and Rebecca Lee Cummings Bowles. Leroy married Zelma Annette Henslee on June 1, 1954 in Cleburne. Leroy was a quiet man, but one that everyone listened to when he spoke. He enjoyed traveling throughout the USA. Fishing and working in his garden brought him great joy. He was very proud of the many peanuts he grew. Family was extremely important to him and he was especially fond of his grand and great grandkids. Leroy will be missed greatly.

Leroy is survived by his wife, Zelma Bowles; children, Vernon Charles Bowles and Ronnie Lynn Bowles; grandchildren, Jennifer Bowles and Charity and Brandon Reece; 8 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Leroy is preceded in death by his parents; and sisters, Marie Pipes, Frances Hickman and Evelyn Pipes.
