A quiet private family graveside service for Leroy Lanfear, 88, of Cleburne will be held, Wednesday afternoon, May 17, 2017 in Watts Chapel Cemetery. The Revered John Warren will officiate.
A public visitation will be held from 5:30–7:00 P.M., Tuesday, May 16, 2017 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel.
Leroy Lanfear passed away Friday, May 12, 2017 in Cleburne. He was born August 9, 1928 in Johnson County to Ray Sealer and Bertha Bama Brown Lanfear. He married Doris M. Harvey on April 22, 1952 in Ft. Worth.
Mr. Lanfear served in the U.S. Air Force. He was Vice-President of Fabricators, Inc. in Hutchison, KS. Prior to that, he was employed for over 30 years with Grain Spouting and Elevators, Inc. of Kansas. One of his many accomplishments was establishing and founding, along with his wife, the Johnson County Cemetery Association in 1991. The JCCA is still active today with the assistance of the Johnson County Sherriff’s Office providing the work crew. JCCA provides all the equipment and together they maintain 34 rural cemeteries. Leroy was of the Methodist faith.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 65 years, Doris M. Lanfear of Cleburne; daughter, Linda Marie Webster of Cleburne; grandson, Kevin Lee Webster of Cleburne; numerous cousins; and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, J.R. Lanfear; and three sisters, Allene, Louise and Valita.
