Lillian Lee Bilton Joslin passed away Saturday, March 5, 2016 in Cleburne. She was born to Albert Earl and Ida Lee Hughes Bilton on Jan. 25, 1919 in Cleburne. Lillian was a 1937 graduate of Alvarado High School. She married Hollis Brown Joslin on Nov. 19, 1937 in Cleburne.
Lillian was a loving wife to her husband of 69 years and a devoted mother to her four children. She was a member of Henderson St. Baptist Church for many years; where she was a leader of Girls Auxiliary, Sunday School and Training Union Teacher, and a member of WMU and Young Women’s Auxiliary. Lillian and Hollis became members of Westhill Church of Christ in later life and touched many lives there, also. Lillian wrote of “the memories of days past and what a joy it was to see many of those whose lives we touched still serving the Lord.”
In the community, she was a 4-H leader, Blue Bird Leader and Cub Scout Den mother. Lillian was also a 50-year member of Eastern Star. With her husband, she became a member of the Good Sam’s Club in order to enjoy their travel trailer.
That Lillian was a woman of faith in Jesus Christ was evidenced by the way she lived her life. She stood for many things: including a close family, sharing the Gospel, a servant’s heart, and a desire to show love and compassion to everyone she met.
Lillian Lee Bilton Joslin was preceded in death by her husband, Hollis Joslin, her parents, five sisters and two brothers, her daughter-in-law, Pat Joslin, and her great grandson, Trey Joslin.
