Linda passed away on Saturday, May 7, 2022 in Cleburne. She was born to Irvin Briar and Ella Lee Morris Layland on January 30, 1941 in Cleburne. Linda married Frederick “Fred” Lloyd Hadley on February 7, 1959 in Cleburne. Together, they owned and operated Layland Plumbing from 1967-2004. She was a true plumber at heart and took pride in serving the community in her many roles at the office. Her devotion to the community went beyond their business. She was known for her role at events such as Spring Fest, The Fourth of July, and Whistle Stop to name a few, where she was involved in all areas of the events – the “overall managing director” of sorts. In 1999 she was awarded as an honoree in the Wall of Fame of the Cleburne Chamber of Commerce in recognition for her countless contributions to the community. Linda held a great love of Layland Museum and served on the board of directors several times. She was a devoted member of Field Street Baptist Church and her Sunday School class. She served with the Homebound Ministry for many years as well. Linda was a loyal friend and often was with her group of close friends and church friends on trips, outing, events or shopping for her rooster and bell collection. She enjoyed their fellowship doing most anything that their adventurous spirits led them to. It has been said that Linda was fun-loving, outgoing, a great storyteller, giving, and knew no stranger. Linda was family oriented in every sense of the phrase. Her deep love and devotion to her family was echoed in all that she was and all that she did. Linda was larger than life in countless ways to the many lives she forever touched along her path and will be remembered with a smile for years to come. She will be missed beyond measure. Linda was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Jeff Hadley; and brother, Bill Layland.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Rick and Veronica Hadley; daughter-in-law, Amberly Hadley; grandchildren, Amanda Ellis and husband, William and Kristen Hadley; her beloved Boston Terrier, Miss Priss; and a host of other relatives and friends.
