A Celebration of Life for Linda Linville Rudel Farrell, 84, of Lake Whitney, will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Friday, April 12, 2024, in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel with Reverend John Wood officiating and a reception following.
Linda passed away peacefully into the arms of Jesus on March 26, 2024. We celebrate her faith in Christ that has now become sight. She was born into the pioneer Gillespie family of Historic Handley in East Fort Worth. She was a graduate of Handley High School and attended Handley-Meadowbrook Christian Church. Her early interest in classical ballet and dance was inspired by an aunt who supported her passion for dance as she studied and later taught with Enid Woodward, Francis Burgess and Persis Foster, ballet mistresses of Fort Worth and Arlington. Linda and husband, the late 2nd Lt. US Army Dennis Easley resided in Arlington where two daughters were born before his passing in Vietnam as the first war fatality of an Arlington resident as a helicopter pilot. Despite this incredible loss, Linda's strength, faith and family pressed on to find joy and tremendous love for these two young daughters. Later, she married and completed her family with two sons. This busy mom's life was also Inspired with the love of cooking, gardening, reading, Saint Alban's Anglican Church, travel, fishing and making the most of family life. Several years later, she moved to Lake Whitney to be closer to one of her daughters and met a charming A & M "Aggie." Linda and John Farrell were married on Thanksgiving Day and enjoyed life on the lake until his passing. Love of family came easy to Linda with her words of loving gratitude and encouragement throughout her life and her appreciation of the peace found through Jesus Christ. As written by Paul in 1 Corinthians 13:7... Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful and endures through every circumstance.
