Linda Smith

A celebration of life for Linda Jeffress Smith, 74, of Joshua, will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, February 18, 2023, in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Pastor Mitch Morrow will officiate.

Linda passed away Wednesday, February 1, 2023 in Joshua. She was born May 9, 1948, in Fort Worth to Jack Norman and Magdaline (Vigus) Jeffress. Linda married John Cowart Smith on May 9, 1964 in Ardmore, Oklahoma. They were married for 40 years before his passing on September 10, 2004. She was proud to be a U.S. Army Veteran's wife. Linda was of the Baptist faith. She was a quiet lady who enjoyed family gatherings, dancing, and playing Sudoku. Linda kept you on your toes. She enjoyed coca cola, coffee, and oreo cookies. She collected Precious Memories figurines. Hummingbirds were a favorite of hers as well. Linda will be greatly missed.

Linda is survived by her children, Wayne Worthington, Sandra Barton & Charlie Clark, and Laura Dawn Roe; grandchildren, Chance, Carter, Callum, Whitney, Dillon, Sabrina and Cheyenne; great-grandson, Isaac; siblings, Karen Ney and Robert Jeffress; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; grandson, Christopher; sister, Patricia Martin; and brother, Gary Jeffress.
