Service for Linwood “Woody” Hedgecock, 70, of Cleburne will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Sunday, Feb. 26, 2017 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Pastor Dean Elliott will officiate. Burial will follow in Baker-Lain Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Steve Johnson, Brett Johnson, Gary Peterson, Jacob Horton, Lee Horton, Doug Marbut, Ole Neystel, Brent Huffman, Phil Smith and Chris Athey. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 P.M., Saturday, at the funeral home.
Linwood “Woody” Hedgecock passed away Friday, Feb. 24, 2017 in Ft. Worth. He was born July 31, 1946 in Ft. Hood to Laverne Linwood and Lola Christine Moore Hedgecock. He married Julia Mae McMichael Shaw on June 5, 1993 in Cleburne.
Mr. Hedgecock was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in Vietnam. He worked as a truck driver for DPC Inc., retiring with 22 years of service. He served as a trustee for the Goat Neck Community Center for many years. Woody was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Julia “Rose” Hedgecock of Cleburne; daughters, Jori Hedgecock of Rio Vista and Melanie Marbut and husband Doug of Cleburne; grandson, Jerrett Hedgecock of Rio Vista; special niece, Alicia Johnson and husband Steve of Cleburne; special nephew, Gary Peterson and wife Brenda of Glen Rose; special friend, Joy Horton of Cleburne; sister-in-law, Paula Athey and husband Chris of Glen Rose; and a host of other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Stephanie Huffman; and brother, Don Hedgecock.
