Graveside service for Lloyd Lee Lawhon, 75, of Cleburne, will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, August 12, 2022, in Kimball Bend Cemetery. Pastor George Watson will officiate. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 P.M., Thursday, August 11, 2022, at the funeral home.
Lloyd passed away Monday, August 8, 2022, in Fort Worth. He was born October 2, 1946, in San Saba, Texas to Robert E. Lawhon and Villa Louise (Watson) Coggin. Lloyd served our country from 1965-1968 in the United States Army. He worked in food canning manufacturing for Carnation Company as a Master Mechanic and with Santa Fe Railroad. He was a member of Bible Baptist Church. Lloyd touched countless lives and left you better for knowing him. He was giving to a fault of his time, and resources alike. He could fix anything and truly enjoyed the challenge. Lloyd knew a vast amount of information on various subjects. He could educate you for hours if you let him. Lloyd was an avid reader, especially of westerns and science fiction. Lloyd’s strong will and independent streak will be missed greatly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, H.B. and Villa Coggin, and sister, Linda Gay Estes.
Lloyd is survived by his children, Richard James Lawhon, and Elidia Lawhon Lofton; several grandchildren; siblings, Richard Lawhon, Beverly Walsh, Dave Coggin, Bob Coggin, and Jerry Coggin; along with numerous nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
