Name of Deceased: Lloyd E. "Red" McVicker
Services for Lloyd E. "Red" McVicker, 82, of Cleburne will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 26, 2005 in the Cleburne Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Kern Porter will officiate. Pallbearers will be Bob Rogers, Don Green, Don Turner, Joe Erwin, Joe Leonard, Jim Woodard, Don Ellyson and Allen McVickers. Honorary Pallbearers will be J.L. Calahan, Lonnie Grayson and John Redman. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery.
Mr. McVicker was born March 8, 1923 in Bosque County, TX. to Elbert and Virginia Ann Leonard McVicker. He married Mary Louise Nesbit on May 8, 1954 in Cleburne. He was a member of the Central Church Of Christ, and a member of the Cleburne Loins Club where he recieved the Lion King award in 2003. He was a member of the Cleburne Chamber Ambassadors and served as president of the Texas Fire Chief's Association. He also was a former little league baseball coach.
Mr. McVicker worked for the Cleburne Fire Department for 50 years and served as Fire Chief for 35
years. He formerly worked at Charles Mens Wear and Bradbury Clothiers. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served in WWII.
Survivors include his wife, Mary McVicker of Cleburne; sons, Steve McVicker of Houston and David McVicker of Ft. Worth; daughter, Kathy McVicker of Cleburne; grandson, Nolan McVicker of Cleburne; sister, Helen Jean McVicker of Ft. Worth and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Lester McVicker and sisters, Winona Calahan and Lera Mae Ellyson.
Visitation will be from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Monday in the Cleburne Funeral Home.
