Service for Lois Kathryn McCoy Hobson, 98, of Cleburne will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Friday, Sept. 9, 2016 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. The Reverend John Glover will officiate. Burial will be in Greenacres Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 P.M., Thursday, at the funeral home.
Lois Kathryn McCoy Hobson passed away Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2016 in Cleburne. She was born Feb. 4, 1918 in Hillsboro to Roy M. and Birdie Mae Pryor Summerhill.
Mrs. Hobson was a dairywoman and also worked in shoe sales. She was a loving wife, mother, Memaw, sister, and a dear friend to many. She loved cooking and watching “Little House on the Prairie.” Lois was a member of Field Street Baptist Church.
Survivors include her son, Charles William McCoy and wife Dora of Cleburne; stepson, John Hobson and wife Karen of Houston; daughter-in-law, Nancy Anderson of Burleson; step daughter-in-law, Ann McCoy of Dallas; grandchildren, Eden King and husband Joe and Lane Anderson, all of Burleson, Michele Jenkins and husband James of Snyder; step grandchildren, Kathy Turner and husband George of Dallas and Steven McCoy and wife Robin of Oregon; 10 great grandchildren, brothers, James Summerhill and wife Greta of Aledo and Weldon Summerhill of Hillsboro; and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Charles William Payton McCoy (Charlie) and Joe Hobson; son, Ronny Anderson; stepson, Charles Rhea McCoy; and several brothers and sisters.
The family would like to give a special thank you to her caregivers, Charles William and Dora McCoy; great granddaughter, Whitney J. and to Mission Hospice.
