Lona Ruffin

Service for Lona Vaden Boatwright Ruffin 97, of Cleburne, will be conducted at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, June 19, 2019 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Burial will follow at Greenacres Memorial Park. Visitation will be 4-6:00 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Lona Vaden Boatwright Ruffin passed away Friday, June 14, 2019 in Cleburne. She was born January 9, 1922 in Roanoke Virginia to Stanley and Carrie Oakes Boatwright. Lona was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother. She taught school for 50 years and was a very active member of Field Street Baptist Church taking two mission trips to Australia and Estonia.

Lona is survived by her daughter, Betsy Ruffin; sons, David Ruffin and wife Sarah, William “Bill” Ruffin, Jr.; grandchildren Carrie Bauers, Aliston Ruffin, Andrew Ruffin and wife Megan, Marc Ruffin, Mary Rossi and husband Steven, Scott Wafer and wife Brandy,; 9 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, daughter in law Kathy Ruffin and grandson Bran Ruffin.
