Services for Louis A. "Jim" Cryer, 94 of Grandview will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Monday, Dec. 1, 2008 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. The Reverend Glenn Pipes will officiate. Pallbearers will be Monty Bosworth, Robert Bosworth, Jeff Bosworth, Jerry Hall, Terry Hall and Bill Bozka. Burial will be in the Rio Vista Cemetery.
Mr. Cryer passed away Friday, Nov. 28, 2008 in Grandview. He was born Mar. 1, 1914 in Johnson County to Jesse Andrew and Lula Higginbotham Cryer. He married Faye Marie Pipes on July 28, 1934 in Johnson County. He was a retired lineman for Texas Power and Light with 32 years of service, a member of the Friendship Baptist Church and also a member of the Johnson County Sheriffs Posse where he served as Lieutenant. Mr. Cryer also served as Santa Clause for the City of Cleburne for many years.
He is survived by his wife of 74 years, Faye Cryer of Grandview; daughters, Jimmie Jeschke and husband Charles of Grandview, Judy Hall and husband Charles of Grandview; sister, Mary Elem and Grandview; 6 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Visitation will be from 4-6 P.M., Sunday at the funeral home.
