Mr. Vaughn was born to George Ohmer and Lillie Ruth Cox Vaughn on September 28, 1936 in Fort Worth. Louis married Betty Lou Brock on May 31, 1957 in Roanoke, Texas. He was a member of Field Street Baptist Church. He retired from Lockheed Martin after 38 years of service as a security guard. He made many friends in that time that became more like family to him. Louis was known as a loving man, who had his own way of showing how much he cared to those he loved. It has been said that you always knew where you stood with him and that age had a way of mellowing him. He spent countless hours tending to his 26 acre farm, enjoying his time with his cattle and red deer especially. Louis could do anything and that in itself kept him busy. He will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Betty Vaughn; daughters, Tobie Smith and Tamie Gales and husband, Jackie; son, Tony Vaughn; 7 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; brother, George Vaughn; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, and grandsons, Matt Smith and Zachary Vaughn.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Field Street Baptist Church.
