Services for Louise Phillips Mears, 88, of Cleburne will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, December 23, 2021, in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Pastor Brent Shields will officiate. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 A.M., prior to service. Burial to follow in Brazos Point Cemetery.
Louise passed away Monday, December 20, 2021, in Cleburne. She was born at home on January 9, 1933, in Bosque County, Texas to Tom Farrar Phillips and Ima Lou Cabell Phillips. She married Amos Simpson Mears on August 8, 1953, and the couple went on to settle in Cleburne.
Louise attended Bethel Temple Assembly of God. She was an excellent homemaker and a talented seamstress. Over the years she also worked for the Johnson County Welfare Department, Harris Cleaners, and later Walls Industries.
She loved attending church and taught Sunday School for many years. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and cooking for them. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
Louise is survived by her daughter, Jane Mears Krzysiak and husband, Mike of Argyle; son, Mark Alan Mears and wife, Gwen of Cleburne; son, Gary Wade Mears and wife, Katie of Cleburne. Grandchildren are grandson, Matthew Mears and wife, Michelle, granddaughter, Tara Mears Covey and husband, Matthew, grandsons John, Charlie, William and Henry Krzysiak and Trent Shierry. Great-grandchildren are Colton, Collin, Tyler and Quinn; siblings, Lena Mae Dixon, Tommy Phillips and wife, Linda, Wendell Phillips and wife, Brenda, and Wayne Phillips and wife, Marilyn. Louise is also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Amos Simpson Mears and parents, Ima Lou and Tom Farrar Phillips.
