Graveside service for Louise Hicks Masterson Spivey, 93, of Cleburne will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Monday, Feb. 6, 2012 in the Oakwood Cemetery in Comanche, TX. The Reverend Charles E. Payne, the Reverend Eddy Carrell and the Reverend Earl Sides will officiate. Visitation will be from 4-6 P.M., Sunday, at the funeral home.
Mrs. Spivey passed away Thursday, Feb. 2, 2012 in Cleburne. She was born April 30, 1918 in Comanche to Wilburn Lee and Josie Elizabeth Carter Hicks. She married G.W. "Dub" Spivey in 1977 in Brownwood.
Mrs. Spivey was a homemaker and a foster parent for many years while living in New Mexico. She also worked as a waitress and hospital housekeeper after moving back to Texas. She taught 4th grade Sunday School for several years in New Mexico and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Dolores Shankles of Cleburne; foster daughter, Linda Gilmore of Roswell, NM; grandson, Jimmy Ranspot and wife Christine of Cleburne; great grandchildren, Christa Ranspot of Cleburne, Courtney Bushong and husband Andrew of Killeen and James Devey Ranspot of Cleburne; great grandchildren, Jacob Ranspot of Cleburne and Logan Bushong of Killeen and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her first husband, O.Z. Masterson and second husband, G.W. "Dub" Spivey; her parents; four brothers and seven sisters.
