Lucille Crockett

Services for Lucille Lucus Crockett, 96, of Keene, will be conducted at 10:00 A.M. Monday, July 19, 2010 in the Henderson Street Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Keene Cemetery.

Lucille was born to Albert and Lillie Rollins Richter on November 3, 1913 near Keene, Texas. She passed away Thursday, July 15, 2010 in Keene. She attended Keene Public Schools. She married B.P. Lucus on February 10, 1930 and he passed away on October 29, 1982. She then married Herman Crockett on September 2, 1990 and he passed away on July 4, 1991. Lucille was a member of Henderson Street Baptist Church. She taught Sunday school and other church work for over 50 years. Besides two husbands, she was preceded in death by her daughter and son in law, Harold and Maxine Lucus Brumley; son and daughter in law, Dennis Ray and Alta Stanley Lucus; sisters, Maude Jones and Annie Mae Branum; and brothers, Robert, Claude and Johnny Richter.

Survivors include her grandchildren, Larry and Marcus Lynn Brumley, Dennis Ray Jr., Delayne and Mark Lucus, Paula Nutt and husband, Jerry; 8 great grandchildren; sisters, Edna Schisler, Jeroline Wilson, Loneta Pauly and Helen Barber; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
