Services for Lucille Gent Hughes, 79, of Cleburne, will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 27, 2008 in the First United Methodist Church. Rev. Robert Herzig will officiate. Burial will be in Godley Cemetery.
Lucille Gent Hughes went home to be with the Lord and her dearly departed husband, Bud Hughes, early Thursday, September 25, 2008.
Lucille was born on March 11, 1929 in Haskell County, TX to Clarence A. and Annie Fulfer Gent. Lucille and Bud were married on May 11, 1957 in Weatherford, TX. They enjoyed each others company for 41 years. They loved their car lot and traveling. Although their first love was their children and grandchildren. Lucille was of the Methodist faith and was a member of the First United Methodist Church, serving the Lord in many ways including serving on the Alter Guild for many years. She was a true friend and a beautiful soul. She cherished family and friends. One of her greatest joys in her last years was when her great-grandchildren, Ashlee and Aaron came to spend the night with her. She missed Bud until the very end and couldn't wait to dance with him in heaven.
Lucille was preceded in death by her husband and parents, two brothers, Glen Gent and Dalton Gent; two sisters, Ina Faye Gent and Mary Petty; a grandson, Rickey Dale Hart; three great-grandsons, Brandon Hart, Shawn and Cory Grigsby; great-great-grandson, Cole Nicholson and a son-in-law, Bobby Joe Hart.
She is survived by a brother, Clarence Gent, daughters, Carolyn Hart, Brenda Russell and husband, Jay; step-daughters, Genelle Grigsby and husband Charles and Linda Underwood; step-son, Jerry Hughes and wife, Sharon; grandchildren, Trisha Scott and husband Ricky Joe, Robert Joe Hart, David Hart and wife Tracey, Tiffany Siddall and husband, Dwain, Cody Hughes and wife, Marcy, Chris Hughes and wife, Mariam, Toi Aviles and husband, Junior, Donny Grigsby and wife, Sherri, Monty Grigsby and wife, Karen, Casey Grigsby, Kathy Huse and her husband; 36 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff of Mission Hospice.
Special thanks to Kate, Fred, Richard and Nancy. Also to the second floor Drs. And staff at Walls Regional Hospital.
Visitation will be Friday from 6-8 p.m.
