Graveside service for Lula Belle Brown, 98, of Rio Vista will be conducted at 11:30 A.M., Thursday, Nov. 1, 2012 in the Rio Vista Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mickey Cochran, Bill Morrical, David Whitfill, Tim McDaniel, Charles Tillison and Byron Cobb. Honorary Pallbearers will be Greg Rumohr, Landan Ware, Alex Nickel, Herman Ferrell and E.K. Watts. Visitation will be from 10-11:00 A.M., Thursday, at the funeral home, prior to the service.
Lula Belle Barnwell Brown, wife, mother, grandmother and "Granny B" passed away Monday, Oct. 29, 2012, in Fort Worth. She was born Jan. 22, 1914 in Medina, Tenn. to Robert and Zada Barnwell. Mrs. Brown graduated from Medina High School in Medina, Tenn. She married Leonard Ellis Brown on Dec. 25, 1937 in Medina, Tenn. and the family relocated to Ft. Worth in 1945.
Survivors include her son, Don N. Brown and his wife, Elizabeth of Rio Vista; granddaughter, Leslea Don Cochran of Granbury; grandson, Derek Reed Brown, of Ft. Worth; great granddaughter, Valerie Cochran of Stephenville and her beloved Shih Tzu companion, Fancee Brown. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Robert "Ray" Barnwell, Hazel Barnwell, J.D. Barnwell and Clare Ebbin Barnwell and a sister, Edna Barnwell Strayhorn.
Lula Belle will be missed by all and forgotten by none. She will always be loved and cherished. Her family takes great comfort in knowing that she is one of God's newest angels and can now help everyone. Heaven will have a great treat if they ask her to make a batch of brownies ... or better yet she will just go whip up a batch...
The family would like to thank the hospice nurses and caregivers at IntegraCare Hospice and Home Healthcare of Hurst and Chaplain Gary Moon for their wonderful care.
