Service for Luther C. Harrison, Jr., 90, of Alvarado will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, February 4, 2012 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Burial will be at 2:00 P.M. at Laurel Land Memorial Park in Dallas. Visitation will be from 4-8 P.M., Friday, at the funeral home.
Mr. Harrison passed away Wednesday, February 1, 2012 in Ft. Worth. He was born Feb. 25, 1921 in Annona, TX to Luther Cromwell, Sr. and Bertha Smith Harrison. He married Kay Taylor on Aug. 26, 2008 in Cleburne.
Mr. Harrison served his country proudly in the U.S. Army during WWII and Korea. He was a retired heavy equipment operator with TXI. After retirement, he went to locksmith school and became a residential and commercial locksmith. He was a member of Alvarado Masonic Lodge No. 314, where he was a Mason for more than 57 years and Eastern Star for more than 55 years. He was a member of Fundamental Baptist Church in Alvarado.
Survivors include his wife, Kay Harrison of Alvarado; daughters, Peggy Hare of Combine, TX, Linda Faires and husband Carroll of Emory, TX; grandsons, David Reyna and Glen Perdue Jr. and wife Cayla; four great grandsons, Austin, Dalton, Aaron and Dylan; sister, Jewel Hicks of Indiana; two nephews, Bill Hicks and Mike Harrison and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Leroy Harrison; two grandchildren, Sam and Wendy and one nephew, Robert.
