Luther Pinkerton

Services for Luther L. "Pinky" Pinkerton, 71, of Cleburne, will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 18, 2008 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. The Rev. Larry York and Mr. Gordon Lockett will officiate. Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6-8 p.m.
Luther L. "Pinky" Pinkerton passed away Monday, December 15, 2008 in Cleburne. He was born January 31, 1937 in Itasca to Luther and Ila Jean Sanderson Pinkerton. He married Willie B. "Billie" Lockett on June 25, 1955 in Ardmore, OK.
Mr. Pinkerton served in the Air Force and was a railroad detective for Santa Fe railroad. He was the first police detective in the City of Cleburne and was former Officer of the Year for the Cleburne Police Department.
Luther Pinkerton is survived by his wife, Billie Pinkerton of Cleburne; daughter, Teresa Hughes and husband, Tom of Cleburne; grandsons, Jody Adams and Jake Adams both of Cleburne; brothers, Joe L. Pinkerton and wife, Dyne of Cleburne and John Earl Pinkerton and wife, Gyrene of Burleson; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Arden and Dee Lockett of Joshua; several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Luther and Ila Jean Pinkerton and two sisters,Ila Mae Channon and Mary Lee Hemby.
