Lydia Boles

Services for Lydia Oneta Boles, 93, of Cleburne will be conducted at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, November 24, 2010 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Burial will follow in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 P.M. Tuesday.

Oneta Boles, known to many as Cleburne's Granny, went to be with her savior on Monday, November 22, 2010 in Cleburne. Granny was born on July 8, 1917 in Killeen. The daughter of Willis Levy and Mary Ann Wilson, she was preceded in death by her husband, J.A. Boles; daughter Nelda; grandson, John Douglas Cain; great granddaughter, Cheyenne; one brother and two sisters. She is survived by her daughters, Greta Crosier and Wynelle Hunneycutt and husband Cecil; five grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and twelve great great grandchildren.

After traveling in a covered wagon for years, Granny's family settled in to Cleburne. She spent years caring for many children and elderly. She was a nurse and a homemaker. She was an active member of South Walnut Church of Christ from around 1927 until her death.

Granny loved God, loved her family and loved her community. "A woman who fears the Lord, she shall be praised." Proverbs 31:30.
