Lynda Giddens

Lynda Susan Giddens, 43, of Cleburne, Texas passed away on Friday, October 28th, 2022, at Texas Health Cleburne surrounded by the people who loved her most.

Lynda was born on March 14th, 1979 in Baltimore, Maryland. At the age of 14, she moved with her mother and stepfather to Kennesaw, Georgia where she graduated from North Cobb High School in 1997.

She met her husband, Mark, in 1999 through an unlikely series of events transpiring on the internet and they were married in Cleburne, Texas on November 26th, 2002. They lived together in Duluth, Georgia for several years during which time she gave birth to 2 beautiful boys in 2007 and 2009. The family moved to Texas in 2010 and have resided in Cleburne since 2012.

Lynda worked as a Data Analyst for AutoTrader.com for many years where she was a valued employee. After moving to Texas, she worked as an Internet Assessor and Content Moderator.

She enjoyed many different hobbies and activities over the years including fiber arts, gaming, and reading, but she excelled as an amateur photographer. She captured beautiful images of nature, animals, architecture, landscapes, and especially of her children and loved ones. She truly had an eye for beauty in all its forms and managed to capture it in thousands of pictures.

Lynda had a deep passion for equality and social justice. She never feared to challenge harmful ideas and dangerous rhetoric. She spoke up against racism, sexism, and homophobia when most would remain silent. She had a measured approach to discussing issues and always managed to remain calm when faced with difficult attitudes and heightened emotions. Her logical approach to sensitive topics tended to find the cracks in even the most tempered beliefs and her compassion could sway the most hardened hearts. Lynda loved fiercely and deeply and the light she added to this world will truly be missed.

Lynda is survived by her adoring husband, Mark Giddens; sons Elias and Noah Giddens; mother and stepfather, Judy and Jim Szalecki; mother-in-law, Judith Giddens and many in-laws, nieces, nephews, and family who loved her dearly. She is preceded in death by her father-in-law, Roy Giddens Jr.

A visitation with her family and friends will be held on Saturday, November 5th, 2022 from 4pm-6pm at Crosier -Pearson Cleburne Funeral Home in Cleburne, TX.
