Mable Towerton

Services for Mable Ruth Towerton, 91, of Keene, will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 4, 2008 in the Keene Seventh-day Adventist Youth Chapel. Pastor Larry Moore and Pastor Norman Martin will officiate. Burial will be in Keene Cemetery. Pallbearers will John Lamb, Brian Lisenbe, Charles Mackie, Roger Dale Mackie, Gary Don Mackie and Tommy Joe Mackie. Honorary pallbearers will be Forrest Bigham, Johnny Dee Coker, John A. Hicks, James Hicks, Raymond Hicks and James Selby.

Mable Ruth Towerton passed away Friday, May 30, 2008 in Keene. She was born December 9, 1916 in San Saba, TX to Charley and Katie Belle Grumbles Mackie. She married Wayne Clell Towerton on July 4, 1936 in San Saba, TX.

Mrs. Towerton was a homemaker and a member of the Keene Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Mable Ruth Towerton is survived by her daughters, Gloria Wayne Selby and husband Sherwin of Paradise, CA and Katie Ann Lamb and husband Ed of Ooltewah, TN; grandchildren, Dale Selby and wife Linda of Hanford, CA, James Selby and wife Mirna of Olympia, WA, David Selby and wife Meisha of Visalia, CA, John Lamb of Chattanooga, TN, Twila Murphy of Paradise, CA and Lt. Janet Lamb-Barber and husband Stephen of Falls Church, VA; nine great-grandchildren; one brother, Tommy Mackie of Arlington, TX; two sisters-in-law, Charlene Williams of Dallas and Ruth Mackie of Portland, TX and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Wayne Clell Towerton, August 14, 1995; sister, Gracie Houston and two brothers, Donald and Frank Mackie.
