Services for Mamie Russell McCoy, 94, of Cleburne, will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Monday, October 11, 2010 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Her son-in-law, Mr. J. L. Taylor will officiate. Burial will follow in the Rosehill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandsons and great-grandsons. Visitation will be from 5-7 P.M. Sunday.

Mrs. McCoy passed away Friday, October 8, 2010 in Cleburne. She was born June 19, 1916 in Lena, Mississippi to Floyd and Mattie Glaze Russell. She married Lonnie McCoy on June 3, 1936 in Jackson, Mississippi.

Mamie was a retired long-time co-manager and operator of My Ladies Dress Shop in Cleburne. She was a lifetime member of the Magic Mirror Health Club and a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. She was also a member of the First Baptist Church in Cleburne.

Mamie is survived by her daughters, Barbara McCoy Taylor and husband J.L. of Bryan and Carolyn McCoy of Cleburne; grandsons, Jim Taylor, Jr. and wife Paula of Katy and Randy Taylor and wife Susan of Lake Conroe; granddaughter, Lauri Vereen Cook and husband Karl; grandson, Larry Vereen, Jr. and wife Brittany, all of Cleburne; nine great grandchildren; one great-great grandson; sister, Lillian Williford of Memphis, Tennessee and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Lonnie and one brother, Forrest Russell.

The family would like to give a special thanks for all the loving care given to Mamie by Hospice and Heritage Trails.
