Manuel Cavazos

Service for Manuel Ortiz Cavazos, 83, of Itasca will be conducted 10:00 A.M., Saturday, February 4, 2023 in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cleburne. Burial will be in the Itasca Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8:00 P.M., Friday, February 3, 2023 at the funeral home. Rosary will 7:00 P.M. Friday, February 3, 2023 at the funeral home.

Manuel went to be with the Lord on January 28, 2023. Manuel was born on August 3, 1939, in Mission, Tx. His parents were Manuel L. and Olivia Cavazos. Manuel married M. Nellie Ramos, on June 27, 1964. He was a member of our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Hillsboro Tx.

As a young man he worked on the King Ranch in Kingsville Tx. He worked for Hugh Kyle of Itasca as a farmer for several years. He worked as a machinist for Harris Electric for 9 years, after that he went to work for Thomas Conveyor, Gearhart and Halliburton until his retirement in 2005. He was in the Itasca Volunteer Fire Department for 22 years.

Manuel is survived by his wife, Manuela Nellie Cavazos; son, Michael Cavazos & wife, Jennifer; daughter, Deborah Cavazos; grandsons, Mateo & Robyn Finley Cavazos and Steven Cavazos; great granddaughter, Rosalia Bennie Cavazos; brothers, GO & Ernestine Cavazos, Willie & Becky Cavazos, and Margarito Cavazos; sisters, Sylvia & Tony Terronez, Maria Galindo and Petra Cavazos; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.

Manuel is preceded in death by his parents; sister Elia Cavazos, and brothers, Ruben, Rufino and Jimmy Cavazos.

In lieu of floral tributes the family asks that the giver donate to their choice of organization in honor of Manuel Cavazos
